TO MY SUPER DAD

Dear Dad,
With you, I was born in this weird wired world.
Without you, Mom would have been waiting in vain on lover's lane.
With you, it was possible to go home every weekend from my boarding school without filing a gatepass.
Without you, I would have been one of those students crying every Fridays as they watch their friends waving them goodbyes.
With you, my sis and I had some secret yummy treats after school in fast foods and restos without Mom knowing it.
Without you, we could have eaten Mom's pinakbet for supper. (",)
With you, I can face the world with head up high.
Without you, I would have dropped my sword, cried, and gave up the fight.
You're a SUPER DAD, an inspiration, an epitome of charity - others above self.
I love you Dad and Happy Father's Day.
Thanks for everything.

Life is "still" Beautiful

My summer vacation had been so hectic. I had to follow my strict study schedule everyday to prepare for the Comprehensive Exam 1. I passed. Two days later, I took the first set of exam for the Comprehensive Exam 2, the Auditing Theory. A weekend was given for us to study for the last two sets of exams. And the result? I didn’t make it.

So how am I? I’m okay. Super okay. I was prepared – prepared for whatever will happen, either pass or fail. This year’s incident was completely the opposite of what happened last year. After learning that I failed the Compre 1, I cried a river. I was shocked, totally unprepared. Maybe because no one, except our Department Chair, got the nerve to tell me that I didn’t make it. I texted all my friends, but they kept mum. The whole world was silent. But God is really good. That time, my BIG sister was here for vacation. She did everything just to make me feel okay. She treated me at different fast food restos and comforted me. With her by my side, I didn’t feel deserted. She picked up the broken pieces and put it all together again. (Sis, you know how much I love you! Thank you!)

This year, after I heard the result straight from our Department Chair, I just smiled. She thought I was sourgraping, but I was not. It was for real. I’ve grown so much after last year’s incident. I went out of her office with head up high because I know I did my very best. And, given just a weekend to study for the Compre 2, it was even a miracle that I passed two out of three sets of exams. I’m proud of myself. I was so strong that I even texted my classmates, friends, family and relatives that I didn’t make it. I still praise and thank God for everything. He has been so good to me.

I shifted last Friday to BS Commerce major in Management Accounting and I’ll be graduating on March 2007. So readers, prepare my graduation gift, okay? And again, I’ll say God is really good. I learned from my dad that he’s retiring from his job very soon. Everything really happens for a reason. I’m excited to graduate and look for a job because I’m going to replace my dad soon as the family’s breadwinner. I’m ready to repay them back and send my little sister to school.

To conclude, I’d like to share a quote I’ve read in the book Becoming a Winner. “It is not the events in our life that makes us who we are, a success or a failure, but rather the way we respond to these events and situations. Our decisions and actions determine our destiny.”

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

God, thank you for making me strong this time. Thanks for everything.

Papa and Mama, thanks for being ever supportive. I’ll be graduating and working soon. Hold your breath, you’ll be relaxing soon.

Sister SHA, you are the main reason why I’m strong now. How could I ever survive last year without you? I miss you and your free food treats. Luv yah! Mmmwwwwaahhh……

Ate Lindy, for the comforting text messages.

Jog (Dearie), for establishing a 10 o’clock prayer habit and for the support despite your absence. You’ll always be my best friend, now and forever. (Drama!)

Ma’am Pido a.k.a. Ate Bing (The Department Chair), for still being proud of me despite everything that happened. Thanks!

To the Survivors (Shanon, Jane, Glenn, Don, Jun, Datz, Te Pamz, Metz), Congrats, you made it! Aja! Don’t worry, I’ll still be around for a year.
Joni Dear, you are a pillar of strength, a source of inspiration. Salamat sa books. Take care.
To my co-evictees (Borge, Buenas, and Aimee), There’s more to life. Cheer up! Life is still beautiful!

Luvly and Ma’am Cosejo, thanks for the prayers.

To all the people who also prayed for me, Maraming Salamat!

Ate Susan sa may kiosk, thanks for the complete meal – rice, patty, egg and tortang talong. Ang Sarrrrrapppp!!!

To the people who have had high expectations for me, I’m sorry I didn’t level or outlevel your expectations. I’m still human and imperfect. But I did my very best. Thanks for setting the standards.

BEING A BUSY BEE!

SORRY guys... I haven't updated my blog lately coz I'm having a strict study schedule in preparation for the Comprehensive Exam 1 in Accountancy that I'll be taking this May 18. If I will pass the Compre 1, then I'll be taking the Comprehensive Exam 2 any day after the results for the Compre 1 are released. Grueling, isn't it? Friends and fans, I need your prayers.

For prima facie evidences... look at these pictures:

See? I'm eating books!

VIVA VACATION!

No word in the dictionary can describe the feeling of having freedom in forgetting fathoms of school requirements, projects, assignments, quizzes, and exams for awhile. School break is just what my stressed body needs. Although I'm presently planning my strategy in studying for the two sets of comprehensive exams that I will be taking this May, I am doing my very best to give an ample time for myself to enjoy. Here are the simple things that I've been enjoying eating lately:

CHOCOLATE SUNDAE @ JOLLIBEE. Nyay... I just can't resist the temptation of goin' loco over this choco. This 27-peso zert of Jollibee temporarily cools my mind and makes me forget the reminders of our chorale director on how to take care of my voice in two minutes. (Sssshhhh... don't dare tell him I'm eating sundae, okay? Hahahah)

CHICKEN BARBECUE @ GATE TWO. For only P12.00 per serving, my body has been rejoicing lately welcoming meat into my world. When you're in AUP, chicken, fish, and beef are like diamonds. They're so precious that you'll trade anything just to have a bite of those.

CHOCNUT. Aaaahhhhhhhh.... the taste of this choco-peanut sweet is indeed very sweet but its just undeniably irrestible. I just don't know why. It's just DELICIOUS.
